Ruslaan Film Review: An Action-Packed Roller Coaster that Thrills but Fails to Convince

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️👀👀

📝Here’s the dish on Ruslaan!📝

Well, well, well, if it isn’t another flick about a wronged hero desperately needing to clear his name and save the nation! The plotline of a Bollywood movie – now where have we heard that before? 🤔

Our hero, Ruslaan (played by Aayush Sharma), is the son of a notorious terrorist, a detail that has somehow not defined his entire existence. Instead, he dreams of becoming a top spy for RAW, India’s intelligence agency. But alas, his noble intentions often lead him smack dab in the middle of danger and complexity.

It’s all about Ruslaan, darling! 🕺

The director, Karan L Butani, seems to be suffering from an acute case of hero-worship. Every scene is a pedestal to glorify Ruslaan as the ultimate hero. It’s like watching Superman without the cape. The plot is full of action, suspense, and twists that would make even a pretzel envious. But, oh dear, they’re just so astonishingly ridiculous that you half-expect a flying pig to be the next twist.

And then there’s Aayush Sharma, who manages to pull off the action sequences quite well but stumbles when it comes to the emotional stuff. Pro tip, Aayush: Tears aren’t just for chopping onions, my dear! 🌰

Now, let’s talk about the debutant Sushrii Shreya Mishraa, who plays Vani, the hero’s lady love. She gets to flex her muscles in some action sequences too. But, (oh, there’s always a but), the way Ruslaan and his gang infiltrate and survive the most dangerous situations is so simplistic that it makes you want to bang your head on the nearest wall.

Don’t get me started on the cliché patriotic undertones that the movie is drenched in. It’s like someone dunked the script in a vat of patriotism and then wrung it out over the entire film.

As for the cinematography, G. Sreenivas Reddy does a decent job. But alas, even the slickest camera work can’t save a sinking ship.

So, that’s Ruslaan for you. A movie that is so determined to give you an adrenaline rush that it forgets to bring along logic for the ride. If you’re in the mood for some high-octane, mind-numbing action, then this one’s for you. But if you prefer a plot that makes sense, then, my dear, you might want to look elsewhere.

💥Rani’s Wrap-Up💥

In a nutshell, Ruslaan is like a rollercoaster ride without seat belts. It might be thrilling, but it might also make you want to throw up. So, buckle up… or not, I’m not your mother. 😉
