Kangana Ranautâs Explosive Remarks on Bollywoodâs Dark Side! đŁ
Kya hai yeh nautanki?! Kangana Ranaut, our very own Queen of Controversy, has once again set the Bollywood grapevine ablaze. Reacting to the recent buzz about the Hema Committeeâs report on the sexism and exploitation in the Malayalam cinema, Kangana didnât mince words. Sheâs been shouting from the rooftops about these issues for years, but kaun sunta hai? Koi nahi! And now sheâs super disappointed that women in the industry are more into item songs than taking responsibility for their work. (Oh, and by the way, sheâs got some epic thoughts on her upcoming film Emergency comparing it to Nolanâs Oppenheimerâbut more on that later!)
So, Kangana was asked about the infamous rape culture in the Kerala film industry and if itâs the same story across all film industries. She didnât hold back, "I have nothing to say about the industry, itâs a hopeless place. Iâve put everything on the lineâmy career, my choices. I have two cases against me. I kickstarted the MeToo movement, but where did it go? Nowhere! I pushed for parallel feminist cinema, but these women attacked me. They get to do these films because I fought for pay parity. Did I do Khan films, Kapoor films, Kumar films? Nope! And when my film Emergency does well, they go into hiding. Ten years ago, on Aamir Khanâs Satyamev Jayate, I called out these screenplays where a girl says âNo, no, no!â and the boy says âYes, yes, yes!â I called out the rape culture and item numbers!" âMaine sab ko dushman bana liya apnaâ She continued with her characteristic fire, "Maine sab ko dushman bana liya apna. Where are we now? The same sexist cinema promoting violence against women is thriving! So, about this Kerala report, Iâve been talking about it forever. But where did it go? Nowhere! The industry is a hopeless place. I think Iâve wasted so much time trying to bring change. Maybe it changed my life⊠Iâm in a safe and secure place as a woman. But Iâm disappointed in women who promote item numbers and donât take responsibility for the sexualization of young women. Itâs disheartening to see women not supporting each otherâs work. They ask me why I have so many fights. Do they even realize who Iâm fighting for? Because itâs not for myself. Iâve lost opportunities, money, brands, everything! Iâm very disappointed in them." Kanganaâs Upcoming Blockbuster Kangana will soon be seen in Emergency, where she plays the formidable former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Sheâs not just acting in it; sheâs also directing and writing it. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. Mark your calendars for September 6, because thatâs when it hits the theatres! Kiranâs Gyan Arre bhai, Bollywood mein sab kuch chalta hai! But remember, itâs a dog-eat-dog world out there. Youâve got to be your own hero and your own villain. And who knows, maybe one day, Bollywood will finally get its act together. Until then, bas popcorn leke baithe raho aur drama dekho! đż Tags: #KanganaRanaut #BollywoodDrama #MeToo #EmergencyFilm #BtownGossip #CinemaControversy
