Ram Gopal Varma Wanted SRK as Dawood in ‘Company’; Rejected Him for Being ‘Unfit’, Also Ditched Kamal Haasan | Ajay Devgn | रामू की ‘कंपनी’ में शाहरुख को दाऊद बनाने का सपना चकनाचूर: SRK को नापसंद कर दिया, कमल हासन को भी किया था रिजेक्ट

Buckle up, Bollywood buffs! Yours truly, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, is back with another dose of desi drama and filmi gossip! Let’s dive into the ‘Company’ that never was.

So, our maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, also known as RGV, recently spilled some piping hot chai about his 2002 hit film ‘Company’. Apparently, RGV had some rather ambitious casting dreams – he wanted none other than Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles! 🎬

Shah Rukh Khan: The Energetic Don That Never Was

In his YouTube tell-all, RGV confessed that SRK was his first choice to play the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. But, alas, the King Khan’s hyperactive energy was just too much for the role. RGV exclaimed, “I met Shah Rukh and was super excited. But I wanted a silent, composed demeanor for the character, and SRK’s energetic body language was just not cutting it. So, after one meeting, I decided to move on.” Oh, the heartbreak! 💔

Ajay Devgn: The Lazy Charmer

Enter Ajay Devgn, with his naturally “lazy” body language. RGV found his perfect Dawood in Ajay, stating, “Ajay’s natural body language is inherently laid-back, making him perfect for the role.” Meanwhile, poor Abhishek Bachchan missed out on playing Chhota Rajan because he was juggling four films at the time. Talk about bad timing! ⏰

Kamal Haasan: The Stardom Struggle

And then there’s Kamal Haasan, who RGV wanted as the Mumbai Police Commissioner. But here too, stardom got in the way. RGV said, “Kamal Haasan’s natural star presence didn’t fit the realistic vibe of the film, so we had to let go of that idea.” Enter Mohanlal, who eventually debuted in Bollywood with this role. Quite the casting shuffle, eh? 🎭

The final cast of ‘Company’ featured Ajay Devgn, Vivek Oberoi, and Mohanlal, with stellar performances by Manisha Koirala, Antara Mali, and Seema Biswas. The film, released in 2002, is now considered a cult classic.

Nisha’s Nutshell:

In Bollywood, it’s not always about the stars aligning; sometimes, it’s about the stars misaligning just right. 🌟✨
