Shahid Kapoor’s Dad Pankaj Kapur Shares Hair-Raising Tale: ‘I Nearly Met My Maker in a Malfunctioning Lift,’ Says, ‘We All Leapt, All 20-25 of Us…’

Bhaiyon aur Behenon, gather around! Khabree Kiran is back with some spicy Bollywood gossip! Sit back, relax, and let’s dive into the madness of tinseltown!

Who knew the world of Bollywood could be such a Bollywood thriller? 😱 Today, we’re talking about the legendary Pankaj Kapur and a crazy incident from the sets of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. Haaye re, Bollywood ke kya din the!

So, picture this: Pankaj Kapur, the daddy cool of Shahid Kapoor, found himself in a life-threatening situation back in the day. The man himself revealed this dhamakedar story. He was shooting an iconic open lift scene for Kundan Shah’s cult classic. Ab suno, Kiran ke saath!

Pankaj ji shared with Filmkopath, “Yaar, hum teeno—me, Renu Saluja (the editor), aur Kundan—were crammed into this tiny lift, and they pulled us up to the 25th floor. Aur mujhe laga ki bas, aaj toh gaya!” 😬 When they came down, he told Kundan, “Bhai, lift itni choti hai ki camera bhi nahi fit hoga!”

But wait, the story gets juicier! For another scene, they had to go to the 26th floor. Kitna bada scene tha, bigger lens, more people, more drama! Logon ko bola, “25th floor pe utro aur ek floor chadh jao.” Par bhai, nobody realized they were walking into a death trap!

Back then, Bollywood was like a bacha industry, no fancy safety protocols, no stunt doubles. Actors had to be their own superheroes. Pankaj Kapur recounted, “Hum 25 log lift mein ghus gaye! Main chilla raha tha, ‘Yaar, we’re too many!’ But who listens in Bollywood, right?”

And then, disaster struck. The lift got stuck at the 7th or 8th floor. Panic! Pure chaos! Pankaj ji said, “Pata chala wire toot rahi thi! Everyone just jumped off the lift, and there was a gap between the platform and the building. Bhagwan ka shukar hai, we survived!”

Guys, this near-death experience is a stark reminder of the struggles actors faced back then. Thank God, Bollywood has evolved. Ab toh safety protocols aur stunt doubles ki duniya hai!

Kiran’s Gyan: Bollywood mein acting se zyada stunts karna padta tha pehle. Aajkal ke actors ko kya pata, unke daada-dadi kya kya stunt karke aaye hain! Safety first, drama second!
