So, our beloved TV diva, Sumbul Touqeer, who you probably remember from Imlie and her stint on Bigg Boss 16, had a little run-in with the social media trolls. On a lovely Tuesday, Sumbul took to Instagram to address these so-called body-shaming experts. She wrote, "I’ve read comments from people who probably think they walk the ramp for Victoria’s Secret. I’ve never been this mad. Please, let me live in peace. If you think I’m ruining my life, then just let me be. I know what I’m doing, and I’m tired of this nonsense." You tell ’em, girl! 👏
Now, why the weight gain, you ask? Sumbul spilled the beans (or should I say the meds?) that it’s due to medication prescribed by her neurologist and psychiatrist. These meds, instead of making her feel better, ironically came with a side order of extra pounds. Her message: "Now, hush up!!!!"
The Stellar Career of Sumbul Touqeer
From a child artist in shows like Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal and Jodha Akbar, Sumbul has grown up right before our eyes. She even had a cameo in Ayushmann Khurrana’s Article 15. But it was in 2020, when she landed the lead role in Imlie, that her stars truly aligned. Playing a clever village girl, she won over audiences, and her on-screen chemistry with Fahmaan Khan was a fan favorite!
Fast forward to 2022, she was a part of Bigg Boss 16 but exited at the seventh spot. She later appeared in Kavya – Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon, which sadly went off-air in September 2024.
