Box Office Dangal: Badass Ravikumar vs Loveyapa

So, what happens when you pit an action-packed dhamaka against a quirky love story? Well, the box office gets a tad bit confused! 🤔 Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar and Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa have been battling it out at the cinemas for a week now. But alas, neither has managed to cross the ₹10 crore mark. Kya yeh pyar nahi toh kya hai? Or maybe the audience just wasn’t feeling the pyaar or the punches!

Badass Ravikumar managed to scrape together ₹0.26 crore on Thursday, while Loveyapa eked out a slightly better ₹0.3 crore. Total earnings? ₹8.11 crore for Badass Ravikumar and ₹6.45 crore for Loveyapa. Not exactly blockbuster material, guys. 😅

The weekend saw Badass Ravikumar pulling in ₹2 crore and ₹1.4 crore, whereas Loveyapa pocketed ₹1.65 crore and ₹1.75 crore. But hold on, Thursday’s attendance figures show Loveyapa had a better turnout with 7.29% occupancy compared to Badass Ravikumar’s 5.70%. At least Loveyapa had some audience loyalty, right? 📈

Tale of the Tapes

Phantom Films, helmed by Madhu Mantena and Srishti Behl, brought us Loveyapa, featuring Aamir Khan’s son Junaid and Sridevi’s daughter Khushi. Both had their acting debut in films that, let’s just say, were thoda hatke. Loveyapa is a remake of the Tamil hit Love Today, where the couple is forced to swap phones. Hansi toh phansi!

Meanwhile, Badass Ravikumar is the brainchild of Himesh Reshammiya Melodies and a spin-off of that unforgettable (or maybe forgettable?) 2014 hit, The Xposé. The film also features a star filled supporting cast, including dance maestro Prabhu Deva and the legendary Johnny Lever. 👏

But with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s Chhaava hitting theatres on February 14, it seems like the clock is ticking for both these films. Doston, competition toh sakht hai!
